Christine Spoljar

Piano and theory teacher / administrator


Christine began formally teaching piano at the age of 16. After the completion of all her piano grades she was offered a position as a piano and theory teacher at G & A Music. She continued to work at this studio for 6 years.

During this time, she was awarded a Diploma in Piano Performance (ANZCA) and reached 6th grade theory (AMEB). She also completed a Bachelor of Music at Monash University majoring in Piano Performance.

Following her passion for teaching, Christine completed an Graduate Diploma in Teaching at Australian Catholic University gaining experience in classroom music education.

Christine has also completed a Masters in Music Therapy at The University of Melbourne where she worked as a registered Music Therapist in a number of different settings. In this role she worked with children and adolescents in hospitals and in early intervention in the community.

Christine has also taught at and managed her own music school called Howlings Music in Keysborough, Victoria from 2012-2021. She holds a Working with Children Check.

Christine brings all of her knowledge, expertise and passion for teaching to her new role at Tea Tree Music School.


Dion Spoljar

Guitar and theory teacher


Dion is a passionate and experienced educator. He has 16 years of experience in secondary classroom education. Dion's areas of expertise is not limited to Music, but also includes English, Information Technologies and Science (Astronomy).

Dion held a number of leadership positions in Victoria, such as Contemporary Learning Leader, Acting Deputy Principal, and Learning Coach before making a big move to Queensland with his family.

Before embarking on his teaching career, Dion completed a Bachelor of Music majoring in Composition at The University of Melbourne. He also completed an Graduate Diploma in Education at Australian Catholic University.

Dion also holds an 8th grade AMEB certificate in guitar and a 5th grade AMEB certificate in theory.

Dion holds a Queensland Teachers Registration which includes a working with children's check.

Dion has also been a singer / guitarist in a number of original and cover bands, playing in Melbourne's live scene for over a decade. He brings a lot of experience to his new role as the guitar and theory teacher at Tea Tree Music School.
